Syensqo doubles compounding capacity in India

A new line at Panoli for PPS-, PEEK-, PPA- and PARA-based engineering polymers will mainly target the automotive sector.

Syensqo India Panoli plant Belgian chemical group Syensqo is expanding production capacity at its Panoli site in India with a new compounding line for Ryton polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), KetaSpire polyetheretherketone (PEEK), Amodel polyphthalamide (PPA) and Ixef polyarylamide (PARA).

The line is scheduled to become operational in the first quarter of 2028 and will effectively double the site’s current compounding capacity, helping meet growing demand from the Indian automotive industry.

The investment is also aligned with the industrial development programme promoted by the Indian government through its Make in India initiative.

The new line will be the first asset in a modular compounding hub designed to provide greater production flexibility across the group’s aromatic polymers portfolio.
