French injection moulding machine manufacturer Billion will no longer build new machines and will instead focus on supplying spare parts and providing technical service for its installed base.
Production at the Bellignat plant was halted in April as part of a restructuring process that reduced the workforce by around 60%.

A strategic partnership with Austrian company Engel was announced today, with Engel becoming Billion’s recommended supplier for new equipment purchases.

According to a statement issued by the two companies, the aim is to continue providing Billion customers with innovative injection moulding solutions.

Under the agreement, Billion will remain an independent company and will recommend Engel to its customers as its preferred machine supplier, while continuing to serve as their first point of contact.

The collaboration will also allow Billion to draw on Engel's service network and technical expertise in geographical areas where the French company does not have a direct presence.
