Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik is changing ownership. German steel group Salzgitter has reached an agreement to sell the German manufacturer of injection moulding machines for rubber and silicone to German-French group Name & Mawi Partners (NMP).

The transaction is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2026. The sale price has not been disclosed.

Last year, NMP acquired Desma Schuhmaschinen from Salzgitter, a company that shares the historical origins of the Desma brand and specialises in machinery for footwear production.

NMP intends to combine Desma Elastomertechnik’s international presence with its own network to expand production capacity and strengthen its sales organisation, with a particular focus on the US, Indian and Chinese markets.

Headquartered in Fridingen, Baden-Württemberg, Desma Elastomertechnik is part of Salzgitter’s Technology Business Unit. Active in Fridingen since 1965, the company later specialised in injection moulding machines for rubber and silicone products. With more than 500 employees worldwide, it also supplies moulds, cold runner systems and automation solutions for industries including automotive, energy, infrastructure, medical technology and white goods.
Desma has production, sales and service locations in Germany, Slovakia, the United States, India and China.

Headquartered in Weil der Stadt, near Stuttgart, and Strasbourg, France, NMP comprises ten companies and around 500 employees across Germany, France, Switzerland and Slovakia. The group manufactures machinery for processing flexible materials, serving industries including rubber, leather, footwear and packaging.
