Christian Spies (pictured), has been appointed CEO of Spectrix, the company specialising in tooling and molds for plastics injection molding. The company was created last autumn following a reorganisation of industrial group Barnes and was initially named Barnes Molding Solutions (read here).
The appointment, the company said in a statement, reflects the Board’s focus on the next phase of growth: building on its precision capabilities, deepening customer partnerships and continuing to innovate across the platform.
Spies is an executive with experience in expanding technology-driven businesses and creating value across complex global markets. He joins from Eaton, a company specialising in the electrical and electronics sector, where he served as President of the Power Management & Control Components Division. He previously spent 17 years at Leoni, in the automotive sector, holding positions of increasing responsibility.
Spectrix operates in the plastics molding tooling sector through the Synventive Molding Solutions, Thermoplay, Männer, Priamus, Foboha and Gammaflux brands.
Announced this year at Chinaplas, the rebranding reflects the integration of key technologies within a single organisation: design, materials science, hot runner technology, molds, sensors and controls for injection molding.
