According to Halle-based newspaper Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, no binding offers have reportedly been submitted for the former Domo Chemicals site in Leuna, eastern Germany, which operates in the polyamide 6 value chain.

The site was taken over on 1 April by the new company Leuna - Polyamid, established for this purpose by InfraLeuna and Leuna-Harze (see article).

The company filed for insolvency under self-administration on 17 June 2026, just two and a half months after the rescue of the former DOMO business. The crisis was attributed to sharp increases in raw material prices and suppliers’ demands for advance payment.

In the absence of an investor, production will continue until the end of the month to complete existing orders. This will be followed by a controlled shutdown of the plants, a process expected to take 15 to 20 days, after which the facilities will be emptied and made safe.

Around 400 jobs are at risk.
