A new phase is beginning at Arburg, the German injection molding machine manufacturer, following the appointment of Volker Nilles (pictured) as chief executive officer (CEO), expanding the executive management team to six members.
Alongside Nilles, Arburg’s top management includes managing partners Juliane Hehl, responsible for global marketing and business development, and Michael Hehl, in charge of premises development, as well as managing directors Tobias Baur (sales, after sales), Guido Frohnhaus (technology and engineering) and Steffen Kroner (finance, controlling, IT, global HR).
Volker Nilles brings more than 30 years of managerial experience in mechanical engineering and the automotive sector. During his career, he spent nearly three years at KraussMaffei as executive vice president of new machines. Prior to joining Arburg, he served as CEO of Humbaur, one of Europe’s leading trailer manufacturers.
Nilles holds a degree in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University and a doctorate in business administration from the Technical University of Munich.
He began his professional career in the machine tool sector at ThyssenKrupp, where he was responsible for purchasing, logistics and production across 11 plants worldwide. This was followed by senior plant management roles at Bosch Rexroth and a decade as CEO of Kleemann, during which he significantly strengthened the international presence of the crushing and screening equipment manufacturer.
