Westlake, through its German subsidiary Westlake Vinnolit, has completed the acquisition of Vynova’s Wilhelmshaven site for the production of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and suspension PVC (S-PVC), which was previously in insolvency administration.

Located in Wilhelmshaven, Lower Saxony, on Germany’s North Sea coast, the plant has a production capacity of 380,000 metric tons of PVC per year and is integrated upstream with monomer production.

“This acquisition strengthens our Performance & Essential Materials business by expanding our global chlorovinyls manufacturing footprint and complements our existing chlorovinyl production facilities in Europe and North America,” said Jean-Marc Gilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Westlake. “The Wilhelmshaven plant benefits from advantageous logistical infrastructure, including a deep-water dock that enables efficient raw-materials supply.”

Westlake Vinnolit already operates at its German sites in Gendorf, Knapsack, Burghausen and Cologne.
