Gefran, an Italian manufacturer of components for industrial process automation, has begun construction of a new production hub in Provaglio d’Iseo, in the province of Brescia in northern Italy, which is set to become the group’s headquarters in 2027.
The €20m project involves the redevelopment and expansion of an existing company-owned building, which will be transformed into a complex covering around 13,000 square metres. The site will bring together production, research and development, logistics and corporate functions within an integrated ecosystem.
“This investment looks to the future. It is a necessary step to ensure business continuity and consolidate the company’s stability for the decades to come,” said Maria Chiara Franceschetti, president of Gefran. “We believe in Made in Italy, and we are confident that our manufacturing stays competitive thanks to innovative production technologies and the vertical integration that distinguishes us,” she added.
Once completed, the integrated hub will consist of three interconnected plants, a layout designed to optimise internal flows and improve coordination among the various activities.
Construction began in November last year and is scheduled for completion by March 2027, with production expected to start as early as the following month. In the second quarter of 2027, the areas dedicated to corporate and management functions will also be finalised, bringing the entire headquarters to full operational status.
The regeneration of the industrial area will be accompanied by a landscaping plan favouring native species and solutions that respect local biodiversity, helping to mitigate the hub’s environmental impact and enhance the surrounding landscape.
The project also includes energy-efficiency measures and the installation of a 500 kWp photovoltaic system, which will partially cover the site’s energy needs.
