Price adjustment for adipic acid

Lanxess announces a global increase for the intermediate used in polyamide production.

Lanxess headquarters German specialty chemicals group Lanxess has announced a global price increase for adipic acid, effective immediately.

The increase has been set at an average of €100 per metric ton and is justified, the company said, by ongoing cumulative cost increases, including significant rises in raw material costs.

Adipic acid is a key intermediate used in the production of polyamides, primarily PA66, through polymerisation with hexamethylenediamine (HMD).
