Following the departure of the CFO, it is now the chairman of Covestro’s supervisory board who is stepping down, after the company’s acquisition by Emirati group ADNOC through its subsidiary XRG—a deal completed in recent days (see article).
As of Dec. 20, Rainer Seele (pictured), currently head of chemicals at XRG, has taken over as chairman of the supervisory board, replacing Richard Pott, who had held the position since Covestro was founded in 2015. Seele is a manager with solid expertise in the sector and holds a doctorate in chemistry.
Before being appointed to lead the chemical division of the Emirati group, Seele served as CEO of OMV from 2015 to 2021 and previously held senior positions at companies including Wintershall and Wingas.
