Global Polymer Solutions, the plastics masterbatch platform led by Delta Tecnic and controlled by Italian private equity firm Investindustrial, has completed a new acquisition in Spain .
The group is adding Bilbao-based Asúa Products, which since 1954 has been formulating tailor-made one-pack solutions of calcium-zinc heat stabilisers and other additives for PVC applications including pipes and fittings, and wire and cable, at a plant employing 90 people.
The company will remain under the leadership of Ignacio Trueba, who has served as Asúa’s CEO since 1999.
“With the addition of Asúa, Global Polymer Solutions significantly broadens its capabilities and strengthens its value proposition for customers,” comments Giuseppe Giusto, Executive Chairman of Global Polymer Solutions. “Asúa’s expertise in heat stabilisers and other additives perfectly complements our existing strengths in colour, additives and specialty compounds.”
Global Polymer Solutions currently includes Asúa and Delta Tecnic in Spain, Ultrabatch, Masterbatch and Eurocolor in Italy, and Polytechs in France. With revenue of more than EUR 220 million and eight production sites, including one in Mexico, the group specialises in the development and production of colour and additive masterbatches, heat stabilisers and compounds for sectors including wire and cable, pipes and fittings, agriculture and cosmetics.
