Röchling Industrial, a plastic processing company, is investing almost ten million euros to expand its mechanical recycling capacity at the Sustainability Centre in Geeste-Dalum, Lower Saxony, Germany, over the next two years.

Upon completion in 2027, the facility will span 7,000-square-meters and process up to 10,000 tons of plastic waste annually. The investment includes the acquisition of new shredders and recycling equipment, along with the construction of a new office building and a 4,000-square-meter warehouse. Additionally, a photovoltaic park will be installed on the roof to power operations with renewable electricity. This expansion will also create around 20 new jobs.

The Dalum Sustainability Centre, operational since 2021, focuses on recycling polyolefin production waste, both from internal sources and from clients. The waste is cleaned, sorted by polymer type, and ground before being sent to the Röchling Industrial plant in Haren, 30 kilometers away, where it is processed into semi-finished products under the Röchling-ReLoop brand.

In the past, Röchling had already invested €5 million in the site to strengthen its recycling activities.
