TotalEnergies Corbion has announced a price increase of around 10% for its Luminy grades based on polylactic acid (PLA), a bio-based and compostable polymer.

The company attributed the move to higher costs for key raw materials, energy, packaging and logistics, which have been only partly offset by productivity gains.

The increase took effect on 24 July for orders not covered by existing fixed-term contracts and will be applied on a case-by-case basis.
