The General Assembly of TEPPFA, the European association of plastic pipe and fittings manufacturers, has unanimously elected Rolf Mellink (pictured), a member of the Orbia Building & Infrastructure (Wavin) leadership team, as its new president. Mellink succeeds Harald Schwarzmayr of Wienerberger, whose two-year mandate has ended.

The Assembly also appointed Christian Apel of Radius Systems, Sergiu Petri of TeraPlast and Andreas Fiefhaus of Viega as company representatives to the Advisory Council to the Executive Committee. It also welcomed the newly appointed managing directors of the national associations in France and Germany, Nayla Sammour (UPB) and Johannes Lis (KRV).

“I am delighted to step into the role of TEPPFA President and to work with an engaged membership, supported by a strong and knowledgeable TEPPFA team,” said Rolf Mellink. “Plastic pipe and fitting systems are fundamental to Europe’s infrastructure, ensuring the reliable distribution of water, gas and electricity, and enabling efficient, resilient buildings and urban environments.”
“Our industry delivers these essential functions in the most sustainable way, and it is crucial that Europe continues to foster a competitive and sustainable pipes and fittings sector,” he added. “A regulatory framework that is fit for purpose, with targeted regulation and, where appropriate, simplification, is key to enabling this.”

Profile. Rolf Mellink joined Wavin in 1989 and has held numerous European and global leadership roles in commercial, innovation and general management, including President of Wavin Europe and, more recently, Global Vice President Market Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability. He also has a long-standing involvement in TEPPFA, where he has chaired several working groups and served as a member of the Executive Committee.
