German producer of recycled plastics from post-consumer waste MBA Polymers has completed its merger with fellow German company Energenta after securing shareholder approval.
Following the capital increase tied to the transaction, former MBA Polymers shareholders now hold 33% of Energenta’s shares and have appointed Ferdinand von Eberhardt, who currently holds the same position at MBA Polymers, as Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
On the management side, Felix-Michael Weber, current CEO of MBA Polymers, has joined the Management Board of the merged group. He will be responsible for finance, international expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets communications.
Gisbert Schulte-Bücker, founder of Energenta and a member of the Board, will focus on operations, technological development and the expansion of the group’s sites. Strategic direction will be steered jointly by the Management Board.
The new group, listed on the Munich Stock Exchange, is now able to cover the entire plastics recycling value chain, from collection and sorting through to material recovery and compounding.
Also part of the new entity are Sysplast, the Nuremberg-based company that has been active for more than 20 years in compounding polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS and PC/ABS blends, and KVG, which specialises in the production of high-quality recycled polyolefin grades based on PP and PE.
At Sysplast, plans are in place this year to double production capacity through the installation of a new compounding line, as well as to expand the technical centre in order to increase application development activities.
