Arlanxeo has inaugurated a new hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) plant in Changzhou, China, strengthening its production footprint in Asia.
The facility produces HNBR under the Therban brand and has a total nameplate capacity of 5,000 tonnes/year.
Construction began two years ago, with an initial 2,500 tonnes/year section already started up in October 2025.
The unit is located within Arlanxeo’s Changzhou complex, alongside the EPDM plant and the Regional Technology Center.
Therban HNBR is used in automotive, oil and gas, industrial, aerospace and emerging battery applications.
The Changzhou site becomes the company’s third Therban HNBR production hub, alongside existing assets in Orange, Texas, and Leverkusen, Germany.
