ReLife, an Italian group active in the recovery of paper- and plastic-based waste and controlled by private equity firm F2i, has acquired from Cuki Cofresco (Melitta Group) the DomoLiving businesses in waste-collection bags—marketed under the licensed brands Domopak Spazzy and Misterpack—and in home-organization solutions, including cardboard covers, plastic containers (PP and HIPS) and home-storage items under the Domopak Living brand.
Well established in large-scale retail, DomoLiving operates a plant in Nervesa della Battaglia, in the province of Treviso (northeast Italy), where it processes around 5,000 tonnes of recycled plastic each year. Turnover is around €44 million.
“We are acquiring the entire non-food universe of Cuki, but we will continue to work for Cuki in the production of freezer bags, which is the food-preservation segment that the Melitta Group company will continue to carry out — through us — in Italy and, with other production sites, in Europe,” said ReLife CEO Massimiliano Bianco (pictured).
The ReLife Group collects and processes recoverable waste, ranging from municipally separated solid waste to industrial waste. It operates in Italy with 23 plants—soon to be 24—and employs around 1,000 people, directly and indirectly, across four segments: Recycling, Paper Mill, Paper Packaging and Plastic Packaging.
