New appointment at Omya Performance Polymer

Sara Ghione joins the Swiss distributor as head of elastomers and additives, reporting directly to CEO Carsten Harms.

Sara Ghione (pictured) has joined Swiss group Omya as head of Rubber Polymers and Additives within the Omya Performance Polymer Distribution segment, led by CEO Carsten Harms, to whom she will report directly.

With more than 20 years of experience in chemical distribution, Ghione previously worked at Germany’s Brenntag, where she served as Business Director Polymers and Rubber EMEA.

“We are delighted to welcome Sara to Omya Performance Polymer Distribution. Her extensive experience and leadership will be instrumental in actively driving growth in our global rubber polymers and additives distribution business. This area is a strategic priority for us, and Sara’s appointment underscores our commitment to expanding and strengthening this segment worldwide,” said CEO Carsten Harms.

The Performance Polymer Distribution division was created at the end of last year following Omya Group’s acquisition of UK-based distributor Distrupol (read article).
