The Board of Directors of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) has elected Ketan Joshi (pictured), Head of BASF’s Intermediates Division, as its new President.
He succeeds Richard Roudeix of LyondellBasell, who has completed his term.
In his new role, Joshi will chair the EPCA Board, define strategic priorities and lead the association’s initiatives.
Joshi brings more than 20 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, having held senior management roles at BASF across multiple regions. He holds a PhD in Food Process Engineering from ETH Zurich and an MBA from Mannheim Business School.
“Taking over the role of president is both a privilege and a responsibility, and I look forward to working closely with EPCA’s Board and the secretariat,” said Joshi. “The European petrochemical industry plays a vital role in Europe’s economy. It holds significant potential to contribute to the sustainability transition towards net zero. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, I am confident that EPCA can contribute to build a better future for the petrochemical industry in Europe.”
Also serving on the EPCA Board are: Johan Devos (Bertschi) as Treasurer; Aurore Nizot (ExxonMobil) and Thomas Van De Velde (Borealis) as Vice Presidents; and members Mariusz Bogacki (Orlen), Niels Bouwhuis (Shell Chemicals), Luca Casagrandi (Versalis), Xavier Cros (Ineos Europe), Ahmed El Zawahry (Dow), Marta Galan Gonzalez (Repsol), Ariane Giraud (TotalEnergies), Heidi Groen (Evonik), Timo Spaninks (Vopak), Frederic Vartician (Arkema), Mark Williams (Sabic), Andreas Woschek (Helm), and Richard Roudeix (LyondellBasell).
