With the launch of the new Recleo brand, Borealis and Borouge introduce to the market a new family of mechanically recycled polyolefin compounds made from verified post-industrial and post-consumer waste.
Positioned as an entry-level range for less demanding applications, Recleo complements the existing Borcycle M portfolio—Borealis’ premium-grade polyolefins derived exclusively from mechanically recycled post-consumer waste.
The Recleo family has been introduced to offer a more versatile materials portfolio for companies needing to comply with evolving environmental regulations, such as the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the End-of-Life Vehicle Regulation (ELVR). Many Recleo grades are RecyClass certified and produced in accordance with the IATF 16949 quality management standard.
According to the Austrian polyolefin producer, this new range of recycled materials is suitable for all types of processing technologies, with particular suitability for film and other extrusion applications.
Backed by the global network of Borealis and Borouge, Recleo is available worldwide, ensuring consistent quality and reliable supply for customers wherever they operate.
“With Recleo, we are reorganizing an important part of our mechanically recycled portfolio that is highly relevant to our customers,” explains Dirk Langhammer, vice president of circular economy solutions at Borealis. “It unites our fit-for-purpose mechanically recycled grades into a global portfolio and makes sustainability affordable in all applications. With our Borcycle M brand, we will continue to serve the most demanding premium applications. This makes our offering clearer and easier to navigate, helping customers choose the solutions that best meet their needs.”
