BASF announces further cuts in Antwerp

Belgian site restructuring plan expanded to address economic pressures, with €150 million in annual cost savings targeted by 2028 and 600 job cuts expected.

BASF antwerp plant BASF has announced an addendum to the restructuring plan for its Antwerp site, initially launched at the end of last year.
The company has raised its cost-saving target from €100 million to €150 million annually by the end of 2028, compared with 2024 levels.

The Antwerp site is BASF’s largest facility in Belgium and the group’s second-largest globally, after Ludwigshafen in Germany.
