India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR)  has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of plastic injection-molding machines (IMMs) from China and Taiwan for five years.

Investigators found the machines were sold in India below fair value, causing damages to domestic manufacturers.

The order covers injection-molding presses with clamping forces from 40 to 1,500 tons, whether shipped fully assembled or in knock-down form. Excluded are vertical presses, fully electric models, blow-molding machines, multi-component units for footwear, used equipment and standalone components.

Tariffs reach as high as 63% of the CIF import value and vary by origin and producer. Two companies—Husky Injection Molding Systems (China) and Huarong Plastic Machinery (Taiwan)—were exempted after officials found no injury linked to their imports.
