Brussels-based PlasticsEurope, the association representing European plastics manufacturers, has appointed Hans Ketelslegers (pictured) as its new Director for Sustainable Use of Plastics.
“With his extensive expertise in scientific and regulatory affairs, Hans’s leadership will be instrumental in helping to advance our journey for a sustainable future of plastics in Europe,” the association stated in an official note.
Prior to joining PlasticsEurope, Ketelslegers served for five years as Head of Regulatory Affairs at Penman Consulting, where he supported the chemical and plastics industries through the transition to a circular economy with a science-based regulatory approach. He also chaired the Corporate Committee of Eurotox for 11 years, held the position of REACH Director and Science Executive at Concawe, and simultaneously worked as a consultant for ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences.
Hans Ketelslegers is a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT). He holds a PhD in environmental carcinogenesis from Maastricht University and completed advanced studies in experimental toxicology and risk assessment at the University of Surrey. He also holds a degree in Health Biological Sciences and a master’s degree in Molecular Biology.
