Versalis closed Q4 2024 with an adjusted pro forma loss of €231 million, slightly improving from the €237 million loss recorded in the same period of 2023.
However, the company attributes its continued financial struggles to the ongoing contraction of the European chemical sector, driven by a macroeconomic slowdown and higher production costs in Europe, which have eroded Versalis' competitiveness against U.S. and Asian competitors in an oversupplied market.
