Nareglax is the latest innovation from Versalis, representing a partially bio-based plasticizer (containing 38% bio-carbon as per ASTM D 6866-22).
It is phthalate-free and designed for use with NBR, CR, and PVC, offering a sustainable alternative to dioctyl sebacate (DOS) and dioctyl adipate (DOA).
According to Versalis, Nareglax is particularly suitable for low-temperature applications such as wires, cables, flexible hoses, films, and packaging. It demonstrates excellent weather resistance and electrical insulation properties.
Furthermore, it provides superior plasticizing efficiency, low volatility, and reduced migration rates.
The bio-based component, derived from azelaic acid produced by Matrica using European-origin vegetable oils, is presented as the diester of azelaic acid with 2-ethylhexanol (DOZ).
