One year after his appointment, Fabrice Favero is set to step down as head of Ecopol America to pursue a new chapter in his professional career. On January 6, he will officially hand over the reins to Tarik Gorgun, who has been named the new general manager of the North American subsidiary of the Italian producer of extruded biopolymer films.
Tarik Gorgun, who will report directly to Group CEO Mauro Carbone, brings nearly two decades of experience from Continental, where he served as managing director for the United Kingdom.
Ecopol America operates a facility in Griffin, Georgia, dedicated to producing biodegradable films made from polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). The plant began operations late last year to serve North American customers.
Headquartered in Chiesina Uzzanese, Italy, Ecopol is Europe’s leading producer of extruded polyvinyl acetate (PVA) films, widely used in single-dose detergent packaging, agricultural chemicals, and water treatment products. Since September 2023, the company has been under the control of private equity firm SK Capital Partners.
Ecopol runs three production sites—two in Italy and one in the United States—with a workforce of over 130 employees and annual revenue of approximately €45 million.
