Tetra Pak, the Swedish producer of composite cardboard beverage packaging, has announced a €3 million investment with Yellow Dreams to establish a new European facility for recycling polyAl. This material, a combination of aluminum and polyethylene, serves as a barrier layer against oxygen and moisture in beverage cartons.
The new facility is planned to be operational in Ittervoort, the Netherlands, by the second half of 2025. It will have an annual processing capacity of 20,000 tonnes, complementing the 8,000-tonne capacity of the Recon Polymers plant in Roosendaal, which has been in operation since 2021 and was expanded in 2023 following a €1 million investment.
